Q: I'm renting out a truck as a favor my friend or "because my friend doesn't have a valid Driver's License to complete the check out". Can I just use my own information and let them drive the truck?
A: At the risk of sounding heartless, NEVER NEVER EVER rent a uHaul vehicle or other any other equipment from other company
Q: I've never had to use a uHaul until now. How difficult is it to reserve a uHaul Truck?
A: Reserving a uHaul is not difficult at all. It's much easier than ordering a pizza online. Prices are straight forward:
1) Daily Rate Cost
2) Mileage Cost (Cost per mile driven)
3) $1/Day for CA Emissions (Because your extra dollar somehow obliterates the carbon footprint)
Any extra charges will be incurred if the Truck's gas was not refilled back to Fuel Gauge's starting position and if the truck was returned in a soiled condition.
Q: What size vehicles do you have available?
A: We have the 9' Cargo Van/10' Mover/15' Mover sized vehicles on our lot. 20' and 26' Mover Trucks are not available here at our location due to size restrictions
Q: I'm looking to use a Pick-Up Truck or 20'/26' Mover Truck, but I don't want to go to another Dealer's Location. Can you have uHaul deliver vehicles to you location?
A: Many thanks for choosing to come to our location, however uHaul is unable to take vehicles from one center/dealer in favor of another location. Certain vehicles are specifically assigned to a specific dealer, so they are not allowed to be transferred elsewhere (especially Pick-Up Trucks and Cargo Vans). Because uHaul locations are spread out around the county, the best way we can accommodate is to find the next operating uHaul closest to you.
Q: I rented a uHaul from a different dealer/city/county. Can you to help pull up the transaction info and/or make changes to my reservation status?
A: Unfortunately, we are only limited to pulling up reservation info and past transaction history directly on our Schedule Log. It wouldn't make sense for uHaul dealer and centers to access each others scheduling logs and make sudden changes/alterations. These changes will need to be requested by calling uHaul directly at 1-800-GO-UHAUL (1-800-468-4285)
Q: "I'm an upcoming Instagram star or whatever. And I need to rent a truck, can't you give me some kind special of deal?!"
A: We'll I'm a nobody working at a Mailbox Store, I think you should GIVE ME a deal. But I'm glad for you.
Q: I need a uHaul right now, I don't have my ID on me, but I've rented from uHaul in the past. Can you just look me and prepare a reservation from my information?
A: As a safety measure, uHaul reservations now require customer driver's licenses to be uploaded into the server during check-out. We risk having our dealership privileges revoked if we try to make any exceptions. Therefore, Driver's License and at least 2 Alternate IDs are required in order to check-out any uHaul Vehicles.
Q: I'm moving out of California before the next Holiday, can you help me find the nearest location where I can pick up a vehicle?
A: We can certainly assist you with finding the correct size uHaul truck, however please note that you'll need to make reservations for Out-Of-Town moves at least 2 weeks ahead of any upcoming Holidays to secure a vehicle. One-Way reservations are locked from the system 2 weeks approaching the next Holiday (It used to be 1 week)
Q: I'm going through a hard time, just got kicked out of my apartment, my landlord is literally the devil, I can't pay anyone since I'm in-between work...can you let me take on of your uHauls for a few days? I promise I'll return it. I'll even pay some cash now and the rest later.
A: Freakin' NO!!
